6 Month Baby Update! :)

Kiara is 6 months! A lot has changed and is going to change in the upcoming months. 6 months is a huge step for her and I. She is starting solids, learning new things and getting bigger. She had her doctors appointment today and will have one again at 9 months.

The Monthly updates covers her Feeding, Sleeping, Growth & Development and Milestones!

Feeding:

She is eating rice cereal now and drinking Kirkland Formula. She has 32 oz a day of formula and 2 tablespoons of rice cereal a day, the cereal will be increased throughout the months. She is holding on to her sippy cup now with no support, she is working on getting the bottle higher so she can drink the bottle in a slightly leaned position. She pretty well lays down while she feeds at the moment. Kiara had her first feeding of rice cereal on Oct 24,2017 and loved it.

Sleeping:

She is sleeping through the night, sometimes waking up in the morning for a diaper change or a bad dream and going back to sleep once the diaper is changed and/or she is calmed down. She sleeps with just a warm sleeper although she sleeps better in her sleep sack with a thin sleeper. She has started to turn on her stomach and sleep that way. Not sure if this is normal in babies.

Growth & Development:

She is standing with support and sitting with no support and working on her balance still. She is putting everything in her mouth because she is curious to know what everything is in front of her and she is also teething; No teeth yet! She sits up in her highchair and has excellent posture, and oh! she loves to talk (make sounds anyways) no first words yet. She weighs 13 lb, 1 oz and is 25.5 inches long. The doctors apt was today, she got a shot for Whooping cough and she cried a little. She is healthy although she does have eczema, we will start using Hydrocortisone 0.5% cream on her.

Milestones:

Her Cognitive milestone has been amazing. She has a great attention span and is interested in studying objects visually. She is pushing her knees up to crawl but no movement yet. She has strong legs, she can stand straight for long periods of time with little assistance. Her communication milestones have been increasing. She loves to squeal, scream and sounds like she is trying to communicate with us. A few days ago it sounded like she said dada. For Social Milestones, She loves being with others and getting attention. I took her to a few playgroups and she smiled and had a good time with the other babies. She laughs when we sing the song 5 little monkeys, when we make fart noises, and when we tickle her.
