Can you believe how fast time goes! Kiara is 4 months today. In this post I will be writing about her Feeding, Sleeping, Growth and Development and my 4 month postpartum. Let’s jump right in.

Feeding:

Kiara has been breastfed and formula fed since the second week she was born. She is starting to have more formula than milk so she can get used to the formula when I stop breast feeding. I’m planning on stopping after 6 months but before 8 months. I’ve been eating a healthy food diet with exception to a glass of wine and cake once in a while. We haven’t started her on baby food yet.

Sleeping:

Her sleeping has improved, she can go 8 hours without feeding, once she went 11 hours without feeding, this was during a growing spurt. She has been growing like crazy, I remember when she was a little newborn. She is now sleeping in her crib, she has gotten too big for her bassinet.

Growth and Development:

She has rolled from her back to belly and starting to lift herself up with her arms. She is playing with the toys on her play mate. She has been teething and sucking on her fingers. She been wanting to do tummy time every time she lays down, she tries to pull herself up more and more every time. She likes toys that rattle and make crinkle sounds. She is weighing 11 lb and 13 oz and 24 inch long.

Changes and Milestones:

Some changes she has been through in the last 4 months are her weight, ability to sit up while being supported, laughter, smiling and communicating with people around her. She is very social, and great in social gatherings. At books for babies, a group of babies learning together with books, songs and toys, she has been having a lot of fun at these classes.

Postpartum:

It has been great, I’ve been sleeping more because kiara has been sleeping until 6 a.m. or 8 a.m, Sleeping-in now is 8 a.m since I’ve had a baby. Before kiara, sleeping-in was 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. Thankfully I haven’t had postpartum depression. I’ve had anxiety and stressful days but for the most part I am well rested and in a good mood. Having a baby changes everything in your lifestyle. I’m going back to work full time when she is one year old and we will get a baby sitter or thinking of joining a day care.

The last 4 months have been amazing, I wouldn’t have thought motherhood would be so amazing. She has made me a better and happier person. I’m looking forward to what’s to come with her, teaching her how to walk and eat is going to be a very exciting experience for me, which I’m looking forward to. I have been taking lots of photos of her as she grows up because all moms knows babies grow up so fast, before you know it their 18 and off to college.
