Yes, its true we all need and deserve rest in our busy life's of working and taking care of others. Its good to take at least 10 minutes to yourself and take deep breaths and relax your mind, soul and body for a recovery. Having this time to yourself is important so you feel rejuvenate and well rested to take on what is next in your life.
Rest and recover gives your body the time to repair and strengthen the mind, soul and body. Resting is just as important and should be a daily routine as working out. Rest and sleep is good for the skin, the body makes more of the stress hormone cortisol when you don't have enough rest.
Sleep is self care, its good to get at least 7 hrs of sleep at night for adults. Of course young kids need more sleep. I need at least 7 hours to function, although I do start to have a crash around 2:00 p.m, therefor I need an 30 minute to 1 hour nap. If I get 8 to 10 hours of sleep, I don't need to nap at all during the day.
Having a baby and/or toddler is hard for you to rest and sleep as they do need your attention and supervision 24/7. I use a baby monitor when she sleeps, this has been very helpful, it lets me know when she is awake. My baby is on a sleep/eating schedule at 3 months of age which helps me have a schedule of sleep, rest and me time.
Is beauty sleep real? yes it is. Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase, on your back, moisturize your skin before bed, change your pillowcases often and sleep with a humidifier on. Those are just a few actions you can do to get an amazing beauty sleep.
Go get some rest, you'll feel a lot better and be ready to take on the world!
